“Let Us In” Tribute Concert to Linda McCartney

Jordyn performed along with around 15 other artists at a tribute concert for Linda McCartney a couple Mondays ago (November 7) at Ryman Auditorium! When I first found out about this, a few months back, I was literally so excited because the concert was for such a great cause and I love Paul McCartney so much. Jordyn performed the song “I Will” by Paul McCartney and may have played another song, but I still haven’t heard about a second song. I’m still adding photos to the gallery, which you can view here, but I’d love more! If you have any, feel free to send them to me. :)

In addition to the concert, Jordyn, along with the fifteen other artists, recorded a studio version of “I Will,” and it’s on an album called “Let Us In” Nashville – Tribute to Linda McCartney.

The Let Us In Nashville – A Tribute To Linda McCartney album, which features several country artists such as Phil Vassar, Chuck Wicks, Steel Magnolia and Sarah Darling performing their versions of Sir Paul McCartney songs, is now available. Proceeds from the album will go to The Woman and Cancer Fund. The album is streaming all week on MSN’s Listening Booth and AOL’s Listening Party.

The Woman and Cancer Fund was established in the memory of Linda McCartney and promotes prevention, lifestyle awareness, enhances available health services and advocates advanced breast cancer and children’s cancer research. Sir Paul McCartney has given his approval and support of the project. [READ MORE]

You can buy the album and/or the track on iTunes here. It’s a beautiful cover, and I can’t stop listening to it!

An Apology…

2011

Hi everyone! So I just wanted to say I am so so sorry about the extreme lack of updates around here. I realize that I was a little awol and I feel so bad about that. High school just started for me, and I’m trying to adjust to the enormous amount of work I have to do to keep my grades up, and I really hope you understand. It’s been really busy for me during the past months.

That being said, I’m happy to say that I’m going to try and update the site with what I missed! Jordyn has been keeping a pretty low profile these days, so there isn’t that much to catch up on, but I promise I will keep you updated regularly from now on!

I’m super sorry, everyone, and I hope you can forgive me! :)

New Email from Jordyn

Jordyn sent out a new email today saying that her website is going to be taken off-line temporarily while she starts her senior year. She mentions that she has been working on new music! Read the entire email here and sign up for future emails here if you haven’t already!

New Blog!

Jordyn posted a new blog! She talks about her plans and priorities for the next year. I’ll post an excerpt below, but you can read the whole post on Facebook or MySpace!

Transition :)
Change is inevitable. Change is good, though. Without it, we’d all wear the same socks everyday and Verizon wouldn’t have the iPhone.
So that is how I’m looking at this time in my life and career.
This is definitely a transition period for me. A lot of you have been so involved in my career from the beginning, so I thought I owed you an explanation and a heads up for what you can expect from me in the future.
There have been a lot of changes recently and I want you guys to understand that they are completely for the better. I have never been so excited about what’s in store for me musically.

Campground tour update

Hey Everyone! Unfortunately, Jordyn will no longer be on the N2U campground tour. At the moment she doesn’t have any other shows lined up but I’m sure Avee will add pictures when she gets back of Jordyn opening for Kellie Pickler last Friday! We will keep you posted if Jordyn announces any other concert dates. :)
P.S. The N2U tour is still going on, so if you are interested in seeing Emma Jacob, Jessie Kirk, The Line, or any of the other talented musicians on the tour, make sure to go!

Goodbye!

Hey everybody, it’s Avee. I just wanted to let you know that I’m going to be travelling for the next five weeks without any internet access, so there won’t be any updates from me for a month. Fortunately, I was able to get my good friends Megan & Olivia to agree to update the site while I’m gone! They’ll probably update a little bit differently than I do, but you can still come here for your Jordyn Shellhart news. I’ll miss all of you, and I’ll look forward to catching up on August 15!

New facebook blog!

2011

Well, this is something unusually different! Jordyn’s fan page on Facebook just posted a “note”! The description can probably explain this better than I can, so I’m going to quote it.

Hey everyone!

Jordyn will now be posting her “blogs” and other news via facebook notes! She would like to see if the response is as great as when she blogs on myspace.

To give this a try, the first note is of all the questions Jordyn recently answered about herself.

If you don’t have a facebook, that’s okay! You can still view these new blogs. The first one is basically just a list of facts, much like the page we have here on Jordyn Love. Here is the first blog.

Zapphy Interview!

June
2011

Zapphy, a Brazilian website, interviewed Jordyn a couple of days ago! It’s a sweet interview and I really liked it. It’s also really cool to see international websites interested in Jordyn’s music! I’m almost certain that one day Jordyn will be able to go to those countries and perform for those fans. :) Here’s an excerpt from the interview.

ZAPPHY – How is the relation with the radio stations in the USA? I ask this because the album has many great songs that can be easily played in any pop or country station. How has the media, in an overall, accepted this work from you?
JORDYN – In order to be played on the radio, an artist will release what’s called a single and the radio stations will play that. The album is usually released after that. In this situation, we released the entire album up front without a single, so the media was more on the internet and things like interviews with GAC. Overall with the amount of advertising that went into this album (which was very little), the attention it has gotten has been a very pleasant surprise.
ZAPPHY – Something the really bothers me is the fact that there are so many good bands, but the radios still playing the obvious. In your opinion, will the internet be THE alternative for the radio stations or do you think that it must come something new… a new way to reach people?
JORDYN – The great thing about the music industry today is that there are no limits to the amount of music that can be reached by a consumer. Anyone can find something they like because there are so many outlets. Radio isn’t the only option, so if someone doesn’t like what’s on the radio they can find what they do like online or through a friend or even on TV. Music has definitely taken over pop culture. New layout!

2011

Sydney & I have been meaning to get a new layout up since March, but we never really got around to it until now. We had the old layout up for more than a year and decided it was time for a change, so here is the new one! Sydney made it and personally, I’m in love with it. We’d love to know what you guys think of it as well! It’s a lot different than the old layout and we’d like your feedback. Also, if you come across any broken links or problems, please inform us asap at my email or the submit box! We hope you enjoy the new layout and we look forward to hearing from you!

Also, I’m currently uploading lots of photos from the three events Jordyn performed at during the CMA Fest! I attended, and went to the N2U fan appreciation party! Let me tell you, if you ever get a chance to see Jordyn sing, please take that opportunity! She is amazing live, and was so sweet when I met her. If you have any photos from that week, please please please don’t hesitate to donate them! Thank you guys!

First of all, I am so sorry there haven’t been any updates for more than a month. There honestly hasn’t been anything major going on with Jordyn, but it’s nearing the end of her school year, so expect to see more news soon! I’m currently adding photos from my friend Lauren’s sweet 16, where Jordyn performed! There are some awesome shots, so I’ll be sure to update you all on that when I finish adding them all.

In other news, there are two new concert dates that Jordyn will be performing in! The first is Jordyn’s second Nashville to You fan appreciation party during the CMA Fest on June 10! I’m planning to attend, so I’m really excited about that!

The second date is on July 22 and I’m really excited for this because Jordyn will be opening for Kellie Pickler!! She’ll be performing in Kingsport, Tennessee for FunFest and I’m so proud. Kellie Pickler is a big name in the business, and I’m super happy about this.
