    Save the Neighborhood Contest!

I overlooked another part of the Save the Neighborhood download page on The Boot (theboot.com), which I think you guys will find exciting! Jordyn is giving away a free autographed copy of In a Room, along with an ‘exclusive photo and T-Shirt’. Click here to enter the contest. The winner will be picked at random, so every fan who enters has an equal chance of winning! I think this is a great idea, but be sure to enter soon, for the cutoff is on August 30.

Save the Neighborhood: Song Download & Video

First off, I’m extremely sorry about the lack of updates – I’m in India visiting my cousins right now, and the internet runs very slowly. I’ll still be updating, but less frequently. Anyways, Jordyn and Nashville to You decided to let The Boot (theboot.com) distribute a free download of a studio Save the Neighborhood! It was recorded a while ago, for the anticipated music video, which was also just released! It includes lyrics that are synced with the song so you can sing with it, and fan pictures! Thank you to everybody who sent in a picture, the video wouldn’t have been possible without them. You can download the song here and watch the video below!

    The Boot Interview!

The Boot (theboot.com) interviewed Jordyn yesterday – her first day of school! It’s a wonderful, long interview in which Jordyn answers questions the songs on In a Room, her record label, songwriting, school, and much more! It’s definitely worth a read. Beville Darden (the interviewer and author of the article) did a great job with it! Here’s a bit of the article, but click here to read the interview.

Unlike most girls her age, Jordyn Shellhart is in absolutely no hurry to grow up. She has a major label record deal, yet today — August 12 — is her first day back at school, as the high school junior prioritizes education first. Instead of rushing out to get her driver’s license on her 16th birthday, Jordyn made her Grand Ole Opry debut on the big day. And instead of boasting to her classmates that she’s now among country music elite as a Sony Music Nashville family member, she humbly keeps that part of her life to herself.

Growing up in Santa Rosa, Calif., Jordyn got her big break at the age of ten, singing the national anthem at a San Francisco Giants game. She moved to Nashville shortly after and was signed to Brad Paisley’s Sea Gayle Music Publishing at age 14. The very next year, she scored her record deal.

Jordyn’s first album, ‘In a Room,’ shows a songwriting prowess well beyond her 16 years. It’s not that she’s writing about adult issues, she’s just found a way to relate to both her friends and her mom’s friends through her tunes. The Boot sat down with the precocious young songbird to talk about her big country debut, the pros and cons of starting in the business so young, and those inevitable comparisons to Taylor Swift.[continue]>

    New Blog!

I am so sorry that I haven’t fulfilled my promise to finally finish uploading all the photos from the CMA Fest and 4th of July! I will get to that soon. Yesterday, Jordyn blogged about how she’s a licensed driver now (Nashville, look out!) and how her summer has been so far. She always makes me laugh in her blogs! Here is an excerpt from the blog.

So at this point I guess I should fill you in on the past month or so since I last blogged.
It’s summer, as you’re well aware of unless you live in a foreign country or under a rock, so in either of those cases, I’m telling you…it’s summer here.
This summer, I’ve been privileged enough to be able to take a tour bus out on the road every weekend and play shows for people. I’m going to go ahead and say that that’s a pretty cool way to spend summer break.
The other artists that come vary, but Emma Jacob, Ty Brown, Dan Evans, Adam Shick, and JB Rocket are some of the ones who’ve come so far.
Other than losing my phone literally every weekend and then finding it at the last second and being exposed to really insistent mosquitos that feel the need to bite my forehead all the time, it has been an awesome experience and so much fun. [continue]

    Back & Catching Up…

Hey everybody! I just arrived home from camp a couple hours ago and I see I have a lot of catching up to do! I’ll try and update on everything I missed these past three weeks. I’m going to work hard on getting it all done tonight, but I can’t promise I will. Keep checking back today!

    Three Week Hiatus

I am sorry to say that there will be no updates on the site starting tomorrow until July 16. I’m going to sleepaway camp (for the first time!) and campers are not allowed on the internet. But if you’d like to be informed of important Jordyn news, just join the forum! There’s always something going on there, and the members are extremely friendly. Join Jordyn Community today!

Also, don’t forget to tune into GAC on July 4 if you’re not in the Nashville area. It’s my understanding that the Music City 4th of July Concert Spectacular (where Jordyn will be performing a couple songs) will be broadcasted live at 9pm. It would be great if somebody could record it from their TV, as video taping at the event is prohibited.

I’ll miss you guys and I’ll be sure to catch up on everything I missed when I get back!

I’ve just finished adding seven albums of screencaptures to the gallery! They include shots from music videos and interviews, so be sure to check them out. I apologize for the quality of a few of the pictures, because a couple videos were low quality. Here are the albums!

[x] City of Dreams (The Making of the Video)

    CMA Fest Blog!

The CMA Fest weekend is over! Jordyn performed and signed in a variety of different places over the four day span. I’ve begun to add some photos to the gallery, but I’d love to receive more! If you have any photographs of you and Jordyn, or Jordyn performing, please let me know and I’ll put them in the gallery along with full credit. Jordyn also blogged about her CMA Fest experience a few minutes ago with a long list of reasons why she loved it! Here’s an excerpt from the blog.

Reasons why CMA Fest week was awesome:
    1. It started with a parade of musicians sitting on top of pretty Corvettes, or in my case, standing on a big, white Chevy truck. And NOT falling over.
    2. During that parade, it rained. Yet people still stood on the sidewalk in ponchos, waved, smiled, yelled, and took pictures…because country music fans are hardcore.
    3. I shot guns at flying clay targets and hit one. (I’ll leave out the fact that Jim Catino from Sony helped me hit it. As far as anyone knows, it was ALL on my own…) There are pictures in the 2010 album. I really enjoyed it, too. Is that bad?
    4. While signing at the Opry booth, everyone would squint at the sign and say, “who is Jordyn Shellhart?” in hushed tones. My manager got an hours worth of people in line by pulling aside everyone that passed telling them my life story. It was really impressive. [continue]

    New Concerts!

I just added eleven more concerts to the Appearances and Events box in the sidebar on the left, so go check it to see if Jordyn is going to come to your area! She’ll be coming to Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio for four weekends in July as a part of the Nashville to You Campground tour! I can’t wait to see pictures from all these different events, so if you’re going to attend a concert, please take some pictures to donate to the site gallery!
